Welcome to the Friends of Wistaria Surgery
Working to benefit the health of patients and others in the community
The Friends of Wistaria Surgery, known as the Friends, was set up in 2003 by patients as an independent registered charity. Our purpose is to preserve and protect the healthcare of patients and the wider community. We raise funds to buy equipment and to provide support and services for the surgery that are outside the NHS budget and that directly benefit patients. We raise funds from membership fees, raffles and by organising social activities, and provide practical assistance to the surgery such as help with the annual influenza clinics and maintaining the surgery's gardens. We also provide local healthcare and surgery information to patients and the community in articlesand items of interest in the News and Articles section of this website, and we provide a valuable service for those who are lonely or isolated through our Befrienders service.

Every little helps - help us to help you
The Friends of Wistaria Surgery raise funds to purchase items for the surgery that are beyond the NHS budget but benefit you, the patient as well as our GPs and nurses - take a look at our history of helping the surgery on our Purchases page. A small amount is raised through membership, more from our Christmas and Easter raffles and occasional social events. If you would like to support our work, please make a small donation - we would be most grateful. Thank you.
